'About time' #2: If you knew then what you know now...
Hindsight is a great thing. We often realise later on that we could have, or should have, gone for the things we really wanted to make happen. Particularly as we mature and begin to understand what we really want from life, the drive becomes stronger. Perhaps the kids have started high school, university or have left home, you want to change career, or you’ve reached a milestone birthday. Celebrations and highlights, grief and loss, all teach us about life in a way that changes our perspective.
When major things happen in our own world and the world around us – and goodness knows there have been some dramatic events this week! – we have the opportunity to reflect on what’s important, recognise our capabilities and resourcefulness, and move towards our greatest potential.
What aspiration have you been preoccupied with, that could bring greater meaning and purpose in your life if you go for it?
What will it be like in 10 years’ time if you don’t?
What is the impact on you and the people close to you?
The good news is, you can still make it happen. Your life is too important not to give yourself the opportunity. Live life to the full and make it count.
“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.” Jack Canfield
