I read a post recently about the things people regret most before they die. The author makes a strong point about HOW people choose to live, and I really believe this makes the biggest impact on how we experience life.
It struck me how many parallels there are with the things my clients discover and change through coaching. They become more aware of who & what is most important to them and they respond to that through more conscious choices and commitments. That's why I do what I do - to help people make a positive difference in their lives.
It's not necessarily about fancy bucket-list adventures like flying in a hot air balloon or deep-sea diving - although those can be a lot of fun! It's the simple things...ways of being, and adding meaning to life, which have a positive impact on yourself, others, and the world around you.
Even when things seem really challenging, how you choose to respond has a massive impact on your experience, and the results you get.
I think Jack Kornfield put it very well when he said....
"In the end, just three things matter:
How well we have lived
How well we have loved
How well we have learned to let go"
My advice is to make sure you can look back on a life well-lived. If you have children or young people in your life, there is no better way to be a role-model for them than to show them how to live a full and happy life. I have recently made some fairly major changes in my life to be with the people I love, more of the time. You never know what's round the corner - my life experience has shown me that.
Make it count from today onwards. If you would like any support in working out a way forward, I'd love to hear from you.
Very best wishes,
